AngelfireTitle: Angelfire (Angelfire Trilogy #1)
Author: Courtney Allison Moulton
Pages: 384
Publisher: HarperCollins / Katherine Tegen Books

When seventeen-year-old Ellie starts seeing reapers - monstrous creatures who devour humans and send their souls to Hell - she finds herself on the front lines of a supernatural war between archangels and the Fallen and faced with the possible destruction of her soul.
A mysterious boy named Will reveals she is the reincarnation of an ancient warrior, the only one capable of wielding swords of angelfire to fight the reapers, and he is an immortal sworn to protect her in battle. Now that Ellie's powers have been awakened, a powerful reaper called Bastian has come forward to challenge her. He has employed a fierce assassin to eliminate her - an assassin who has already killed her once.
While balancing her dwindling social life and reaper-hunting duties, she and Will discover Bastian is searching for a dormant creature believed to be a true soul reaper. Bastian plans to use this weapon to ignite the End of Days and to destroy Ellie's soul, ending her rebirth cycle forever. Now, she must face an army of Bastian's most frightening reapers, prevent the soul reaper from consuming her soul, and uncover the secrets of her past lives - including truths that may be too frightening to remember.

Another amazing add to the list of book that I can recommend to friends and book lovers like me. Honestly, the strongest pull for me wasn't the synopsis of the book but the cover itself. I was intrigued of what this book can offer that other action packed, good vs. evil book can't provide. Ellie learns before her birthday that she is a Preliator(a "person" who has the power to kill the Fallen using angelfire. And she is the only one capable of doing it) who destroys and the front runner between the war of Archangels and the Fallen. Guided and guarded by her guardian Will, they both fights together to defeat the supernatural and stop them from reigning in Earth.

The book is good especially knowing that this is Moulton's debut novel. Angelfire is the first book of the trilogy that Moulton will offers readers and I am looking forward to reading what happens to Ellie and Will in the upcoming books. There are some aspects of the book that I don't love but it wasn't enough reason to weigh the book down.

Ellie seems to be the typical rich-girl-who-gets-everything-she-want-type and I don't hate her but don't love her either. I just don't like her being the heroine, dunno why. Or maybe because of the reason on defiance of the rules laid out to them with extreme clarity. I mean, when someone or some being tells you NO, that means NO right? So don't get pushy. But Ellie doesn't seem to mind a little rebellious act. But anyway, the characters are well played throughout the novel. Nathaniel remains to be the mysterious one in the novel and looking forward to read more about him. And Lauren too. I think she can be a great  part of the novel if played right.

The dialogues are realistic. Moulton's writing style is easy to follow and not boring at all. When you pick up the book be prepared to not put it down until your finish because that's what happened to me and would certainly happen to you too! :) The cover is awesome. Would never think of any cover better than this one.

If your looking for action, love and hard core adventure grab a copy of Angelfire. A must read and a must have!
